CINCINNATI — 2025 will be a big year for tennis fans, as the Cincinnati Open will be the largest in the tournament’s history.

What You Need To Know

  • This year's Cincinnati Open will have 40 more players and extra matches, the largest tournament in its history

  • It'll be two weeks long, which is nine more days from last year

  • All matches will be played in the newly renovated Lindner Family Tennis Center

The Cincinnati Open announced its schedule for this year, which includes extra matches and 40 more players — a growth from 56 to 96 players.

The tournament takes place over 14 days, which is nine more from last year. It'll be held Aug. 5 to Aug. 18, and will feature 24 sessions. The growth of the tournament comes just in time for the $260 million renovation of the Lindner Family Tennis Center, which is being doubled in size. The tournament has been held there since 1979.

“We view the growth of the Cincinnati Open as a true transformation of the event that will elevate the experience for our fans, players and partners,” said Tournament Director Bob Moran. “The added days will help players compete at their peak due to additional rest between matches and will give our fans more opportunities to see the world’s top tennis talent in more matches, practices and special experiences across more days on-site.”

Here's what's included in the expanded schedule:

  • Qualifying rounds will be played on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and Wednesday, Aug. 6, featuring 48 players in both men’s and women’s fields.
  • Main draw play will begin Thursday, Aug. 7 — 32 seeded players in the men’s and women’s draws, each with a first-round bye. Top-ranked players in the tournament will face off during the first weekend of play, Aug. 9 and 10, during the second round.
  • Men’s and women’s quarterfinals will round out the middle of the Cincinnati Open on Thursday, Aug. 14 and Friday, Aug. 15.
  • The final days of the tournament will feature the men’s semifinal matches on Saturday, Aug. 16, and the women’s semifinals on Sunday, Aug. 17.
  • The doubles events will have staggered starts, with women’s doubles beginning Thursday, Aug 7, and men’s doubles on Monday, Aug 11.

Along with the expanded schedule comes more opportunities for fans, the Cincinnati Open said.

Fans will be able to interact with tennis stars as the new practice courts will allow for more opportunities to do so, and dedicated fan areas will also expand. This will include more autograph sessions, increased green space and more. Additionally, the newly built Pavilion will have a shaded gathering space in the heart of the campus.

Multi-day ticket packages will go on sale March 5, and single-session tickets will go on sale April 11. Fans can register for the 2025 pre-sale to get 24-hour early access to purchase tickets.
